Dr. Steve Davies is born and educated in Wales (UK). Graduated from Dundee University with BSc Biochemistry, then graduated from Essex University with PhD in Embryology. He has clinical embryology training and experience with Prof. Robert Winston at Hammersmith Hospital, London.
He is the Joint Founder of Embryogenesis IVF facility in Athens, Greece from 1991, the pioneers of IVF for the past 30 years here in Greece with introduction of ICSI, TESE, Embryo biopsy for Preimplantation genetic analysis for monogenic diseases and aneuploidies. He developed an in- house genetic laboratory for PGT-a analysis (FISH, Arrays and finally NGS technologies), introducing vitrification and the first clinic to offer oocyte and embryo vitrification in Greece. The clinic also introduced the Time-Lapse technology to the IVF laboratory in Greece, and was awarded with the Clinical Science award (ESHRE 2012) for work on time lapse and aneuploidy in human embryos.
Over the 30 year period the clinic became established as the dominant IVF centre, treating over 75,000 patient cycles, and bringing to life over 35,000 babies.
In 2022, Embryogenesis merged with the Hygeia medical group to create one of the largest IVF facilities in Europe (Hygeia IVF Embryogenesis). The facilities include purpose built laboratory facility with American designed filtration system to create a stable environment for IVF technology. All modern techniques are incorporated, with all patients having access to time-lapse technology and in-house preimplantation genetic screening facility. The IVF facility offers state- of -the- art IVF treatment, at very competitive prices, and the success rates among Greek IVF clinics. 
The Legislative Law for IVF in Greece is now fully integrated. There are very few restrictions to IVF practices and the Law allows egg and sperm donations (with or without anonymity), surrogacy, preimplantion testing for monogenic disease and aneuploidies (not allowed for sex selection), age limit for treatment is 54 for females.
