Elizabeth’s story

As I got older, I realized I wanted to be a mom. I did some tests in the UK and found out my ovarian reserve was very low. I was devastated when the clinic said it would be a miracle for me to get pregnant.

Then, a friend introduced me to Dr. Steve in 2021 and suggested me to visit Athens on a specific day of my cycle. I used a clinic in the UK for blood tests and scans before starting my IVF cycle. I chose IVF abroad because I heard the doctors were more experienced and had better success rates.

When I showed my blood tests to Dr. Steve, he said they were normal for a 42-year-old. He sent over prescriptions for the drugs I needed, and I started my first cycle in July 2021. I had four eggs, resulting in two decent embryos using donor sperm. Unfortunately, the first attempt wasn’t successful. They suggested I try a few natural cycles because the medication costs were high and hard to find in the UK.

I went back to Athens a few more times between September and December 2021. After more rounds and egg collections, we decided to do a transfer. Honestly, I didn’t think it would work. But in January 2022, I had another transfer and thankfully became pregnant. Now, I’m holding my baby boy!

I’m grateful for their expertise and support. They understood that the way things are done in the UK might not be the best, especially for older moms. They made me feel at ease throughout the stressful process. They answered all my questions, just like Dr. Christodoulos did.

Going to another country for treatment might seem scary, but you’ll find the best doctors and receive the best treatment. I encourage all women to take the chance. I wouldn’t have my child without them, and I can’t recommend them enough.
