At 38, I began my journey to become a mom. After nine failed rounds of IVF in the UK, I met Dr. Davies in 2018. It was a lucky coincidence through a friend who had success at the clinic too. My struggle was unexplained infertility, a puzzle I couldn’t solve despite many attempts in the UK.
Feeling lost after a miscarriage at round nine, I sought different options. From our first conversation, I knew this was the right clinic for me and more importantly I knew he would make me a mother. Whilst having treatment in the UK they always said “It’s a numbers game, keep going it will happen” without giving me any real explanation as to why I wasn’t getting pregnant. They carefully studied my medical history, paving the way for a personalized plan.
I started my first round and had a good embryo, this did not work and straight away the clinic started looking at alternative treatments. They suggested considering natural rounds, which to be honest I had never heard of at the time, at the same time they took a biopsy of my endometrial lining. This biopsy checks the endometrial lining to synchronize with embryo, based on cell morphology not biochemical markers. They also examined for the presence of localized infections which most tests do not cover, this identified a bacterial infection which can prevent implantation occurring. I underwent a course of strong antibiotics, at each step, they guided and supported me unlike ever before. This was in July 2019, I went back in September 2019 and transferred the embryos that were frozen.
In October 2019, the miracle happened I got pregnant. Their expertise led to the birth of my son, Kobe, at round 17. And they are still with me as I consider giving Kobe a sibling at 47.
In Athens, I found more than just a clinic; it became my home. They are more like “fertility gods” to me. Their tailored approach is nothing short of a miracle. They gave me the priceless gift of motherhood, and for that, I’m forever grateful. With their support, I know anything is possible. If you’re reading this, my one piece of advice “don’t wait age is so important” I only wish I found this clinic sooner and then my family would be complete.
